Co-Curricular

SCHOOL LIFE

John Paul II Primary School learners encounter many opportunities for growth and formation through their involvement in class and community events, participation in all school activities and their commitment to the education of the whole person. By encouraging active participation in the teaching /learning process, we build a student community from a foundation of mutual trust and respect. Our staff is committed to forming young learners who are well rounded academically, emotionally, spiritually and socially. We also strive to meet the wide variety of interests and promote the talents of our learners

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The institution provides the learners with a wide range of co-curricular activities. The learners engage in ball games, athletics, music and drama. Some of the ball games the pupils participate in include football, volleyball, netball and badminton. The talents of the youngsters are further nurtured by holding interclass competitions on regular basis.

The institution has a wide variety of clubs. The learners are allowed to join the clubs of their choice which include: environmental club, art club, home makers, liturgical, Scouts and Girl Guide movements, drama and music clubs. The sports and club activities actively engage the learners’ minds outside the classroom. Furthermore, the learners are equipped with the necessary technical skills and trained on leadership skills too.

SOCIAL LIFE

Human beings are social creatures. One cannot easily survive without interacting with other people. John Paul II Primary School strives to build the socializing traits in the lives of its learners and members of the staff. Virtues of love, humility, generosity and kindness are highly regarded in the institution. Proper communication skills and general etiquette are taught to enhance the learners’ abilities to effectively relate and communicate at all levels.

EMOTIONAL LIFE

Life in itself has its high and low moments. Learners face emotional imbalances as they grow. Emotional support is crucial in ensuring that their academic and social life is not tampered with. The institution holds regular guidance and counselling sessions with the learners. This has proven to be helpful as the learners get to have their fears and emotional stresses addressed. The staff in the institution is very close and friendly to the pupils, which enhances the learner’s confidence. The learners are then able to share with the staff on issues that easily affect their lives in the institution, which helps to regulate their emotional growth.
